چکیده
Abstract Rapid urbanization, pollution, and increasing water consumption together with climate change necessitated to process of more effective measurement, management, decision mechanisms on regional resources. The concept footprint (WF) is a parameter that has been introduced the scientific literature in recent years similar ecological carbon footprints. WF any field or product refers total volume resources are processed contaminated directly indirectly during production process. current work first study assessing discussing agricultural an Iraqi governorate by analyzing blue green WFs Qadisiyah governorate, southern Iraq for 2010-2020. Recently developed methodology used. evapotranspiration amounts were estimated crop requirement (CWR) option CROPWAT 8.0 software. statistical data including meteorological data, rainfall statistics, local coefficients, cultivation area, animal statistics have utilized. average annual 10 between 2010-2020 was determined be 1,315,201,621 Mm 3 /yr. largest water-consuming sector (54%). Cereal feed crops main component consumption. rice followed wheat primary comprising about 44% require supplied from rivers. Vegetable only 14% WF. 15% share used related broiler chickens (44%) 37% dairy cattle. area fertile land production. However, limited scarcity region restrict activities. sustainability freshwater could provided reducing contents. This expected contribute national authorities develop accurate irrigation management policies.

Radiological Risk due to Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials in the Soil of Al-Samawah Desert, Al-Muthanna Governorate, Iraq
Introduction: The risk of radioactivity addresses human life directly. The natural rock radioactivity is mainly due to 232Th, 238U), and 40K series. Activities involving blasting, crushing, and processing of rocks into numerous pieces lead to release of radionuclides into the atmosphere in the form of dust particles. M...
متن کاملThe water footprint of agricultural products in European river basins
This work quantifies the agricultural water footprint (WF) of production (WFprod, agr) and consumption (WFcons, agr) and the resulting net virtual water import (netVWi, agr) of 365 European river basins for a reference period (REF, 1996–2005) and two diet scenarios (a healthy diet based upon food-based dietary guidelines (HEALTHY) and a vegetarian (VEG) diet). In addition to total (tot) amounts...

AIM (a) To determine the spatial distributions and levels of major and minor elements, as well as heavy metals, in water, sediment, and biota (plant and fish) in Al-Hammar Marsh, southern Iraq, and ultimately to supply more comprehensive information for policy-makers to manage the contaminants input into the marsh so that their concentrations do not reach toxic levels. (b) to characterize the s...
متن کاملIsolation and identification of Helicobacter pylori from drinking water in Basra governorate, Iraq.
The mode of the transmission of Helicobacterpylori infection remains poorly understood. A total of 198 samples of drinking water from 22 districts of Basra governorate were collected during the period October 2006 to July 2007. The concentration of residual chlorine was measured and the numbers of total and faecal coliforms were counted. On modified Columbia urea agar, 469 bacterial cultures we...
